THE NATIONAL CHILDREN’S CANCER SOCIETY (NCCS) OFFERS NEW PSAs ON HOW THEY ENSURE KIDS BATTLING CANCER GET THE TREATMENT THEY NEED TO SURVIVE

The best treatment for a child battling cancer might be across town or across the country. At The National Children’s Cancer Society (NCCS) we know – the best treatment in the world doesn’t matter if a child can’t get there.

The NCCS believes when a family is facing the tragedy of childhood cancer, all they should focus on is getting their child well again – period. They shouldn’t have to be overwhelmed with the travel costs surrounding treatment. But how many of us have a savings plan in place for childhood cancer? And unlike other organizations, the NCCS has no limits on how many times we will assist a family in need.

Public service announcements are now available for download that:
• Raises awareness of the immediate financial impact of childhood cancer
• Communicates how the NCCS gets children battling cancer to lifesaving treatment no matter where it is located
• Explains the non-medical expenses families battling childhood cancer face that insurance doesn’t cover such as airfare, gas, taxis, lodging and meals
• Promotes how the NCCS stands by families to get them where they need to be – physically, financially and emotionally – to give them hope, and to give their children the best possible shot at survival
