Did you know that heart transplants don’t last forever? Most people don’t.
Heart transplants don’t last a lifetime, the average is 17 years. One in four kids face a chance of needing another within 5 years.
Your listeners may also not know that a heart transplant is often just a temporary treatment.
WHY OUR WORK IS NECESSARY
Enduring Hearts is the only nonprofit solely dedicated to research that helps kids with heart transplants live longer, healthier lives.
5% of children get the chance for a second transplant- that is the problem and why our research is striving to make the first one last a full lifetime.
We fund the critical, yet often overlooked research needed to eliminate rejection, prevent life-threatening complications, and reduce the risk that a second transplant will be needed.
Enduring Hearts is laser-focused on funding innovative research aimed toward increasing the longevity of pediatric heart transplants, improving the quality of life of children living with a new heart and eliminate pediatric heart diseases that may lead to a transplant.
Please help us educate donors that a heart transplant is often just a temporary treatment and better understand the work that we do for transplanted children.
We appreciate any programming time you can spare. Please reply with any questions you may have.
