Kung Fu Panda Fights Extinction
With millions of animals poached worldwide every year, WildAid and the Kung Fu Panda are championing endangered species by raising awareness about wildlife trafficking.
In a series of video messages and billboards produced by WildAid with DreamWorks Animation, Po, the Kung Fu Panda, proclaims, âwhen the buying stops, the killing can too,â as he helps defend elephants who are killed for their ivory, rhinos for their horns, lions, and tigers for their bones and skins, and pangolins for their scales and meat. He helps remind us that the âbig guysâ still need our help.
âChildren love animals, and they are quick to see the injustice of what is happening to them through wildlife trafficking,â said WildAid CEO Peter Knights. âThey can be very influential in pushing older generations to change their bad habits. Weâve seen children persuade grandparents to stop using elephant ivory or using rhino horn.â
âBy raising awareness of the pervasive problem of poaching and encouraging a thoughtful global conversation, we can help restore populations of some of the worldâs most magnificent creatures,â added Knights.
