MLK Day: Honor King’s Dream with a Message from Bernice King
For 80 years, UNCF, the United Negro College Fund, has helped worthy students make their dreams a reality by providing scholarships and assistance to help get them to and through college.
Celebrity HBCU alums and other supporters remind the world of UNCF’s works and their famous motto “A mind is a still a terrible thing to waste” through these radio spots. This year, your station can broadcast a very special voice for Martin Luther King Jr. Day—his daughter, Dr. Bernice King. Dr. King, an HBCU alumna, recognizes that UNCF has a long history of helping students succeed. Add her message to your schedules and remind your listeners of UNCF’s work over the past 8 decades.
Like Dr. King and her esteemed father, some of your audience attended an historically black college and university (HBCU), or received a much needed scholarship through UNCF. These messages from celebrities remind them and inform others of UNCF’s impact on students of color and the country.
