Ukraine Dam Crisis Emergency Response.
The aftermath of the Kakhovka Dam explosion continues to worsen. Thousands of Ukrainians are in need. The collapse of one of the biggest dams in the world in Ukraine’s Kherson region on June 6, 2023, has forced tens of thousands to evacuate and likely leaving more without electricity.
Experts warn this could prove to be the largest technological disaster in Europe in decades. Nearly two thousand households have been displaced while floating landmines and environmental impacts of the oil spill pose further threats.
CARE and our partners are evacuating families and providing emergency items, water, equipment.
