Help Us Prevent This COVID-19 Pandemic From Becoming a Child Abuse Pandemic
Dear PSA Director,
Child abuse is a crime that thrives in secrecy and fear, and the outcomes of abuse impact victims over their entire lifetime. The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline is dedicated to preventing child abuse.
Serving the U.S., its territories and Canada, the hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with professional crisis counselors who — through interpreters — provide assistance in over 170 languages. The hotline offers crisis intervention, information, and referrals to thousands of emergency, social service, and support resources. All contacts are confidential.
Childhelp counselors are available over the phone or through text at 1‑800‑4‑A‑CHILD (1‑800‑422‑4453). Online chat is available at childhelphotline.org.
The Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline puts parents and concerned adults in touch with immediate support, and it keeps a line open for children to find help. The hotline is a service provided free of charge by Childhelp.
Founded by Sara O’Meara and Yvonne Fedderson in 1959, Childhelp® has brought the light of hope and healing into the lives of more than 11 million children as a leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping abused, neglected and at-risk children. Childhelp’s programs and services include residential treatment, children’s advocacy centers, therapeutic foster care, group homes and child abuse prevention, education and training.
For more information, visit childhelp.org and follow Childhelp at facebook.com/childhelp, instagram.com/childhelp and twitter.com/childhelp.
Help us increase the visibility of this much-needed resource, and help us provide immediate support for children and families dealing with child abuse issues.
Thank you.
