THE NATIONAL CHILDREN’S CANCER SOCIETY (NCCS) OFFERS NEW PSAs ON HELPING CHILDREN WITH CANCER GET TO LIFESAVING TREATMENT
The unexpected devastation of childhood cancer is a hardship on both the emotions and finances of a family.Having a child who has cancer turns life upside down; schedules fill with appointments and jobs must come second. The best treatment might be an hour away, or across the country. At The National Children’s Cancer Society (NCCS) we know – if a child can’t get there, the treatment might as well not exist.
The NCCS believes when a family is facing the tragedy of childhood cancer, all they should focus on is getting their child well again – period. They shouldn’t have to be overwhelmed with the travel costs surrounding treatment. But how many of us have a savings plan in place for childhood cancer?
New public service announcements are now available for download that:
- Raises awareness that lifesaving treatment could be far away from home
- Communicates the non-medical expenses families battling childhood cancer incur
- The NCCS stands by families to relieve the stress of getting a child to treatment such as airfare, gas, taxis, lodging and meals
Please run these PSAs on your station.
