Family physicians are a trusted source of health information for people of all ages and genders. They conduct approximately one in five of the total medical office visits in the United States per year – meaning more Americans depend on family physicians than on any other medical specialty. The AAFP is the only medical society devoted solely to primary care and is a 501(c)3 accredited organization with chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Guam.
