Give a Gift of Life
Dear PSA Director,
We need your help during this time of national crisis.
Every day, patients battling blood cancer count on Gift of Life Marrow Registry to ensure they get lifesaving stem cell and marrow transplants at a time when every minute matters.
To ensure continuity of our life-saving services, we are focusing our registry recruitment efforts online by encouraging volunteer donors to request a registration kit on our website, giftoflife.org, or by calling 800-9MARROW.
Having pioneered the use of buccal (cheek) swabs in lieu of blood samples for donor recruitment, our goal now is to help donors adhere to the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on social distancing, while still making it possible for us to help children and adults find matching transplant donors when they are needed. Once ordered, the kits are sent to the potential donor’s home, the donor performs the cheek swab, then returns the kit to Gift of Life in a postage-paid envelope, and is entered into the registry.
Attached please find a :15 and :30 Public Service Announcement that outlines the above. We hope you will consider putting this message in high rotation to ensure that even while people are staying at home, they can help save lives.
Also, if you are interested in additional information or would like to interview some of our medical staff, please reach out to our Public Relations Specialist Edwige Buteau at 917-655-3843 orEbuteau@Giftoflife.org.
